Leaves

If you have ever driven down our street during the fall you can understand why the street sweeper comes at least once day. Our street is lined with trees. Every house but ours has at least two trees in the front yard. Every fall we are covered in leaves. That is not an exaggeration. About a week ago we couldn't even see our lawn.

Luckily Floyd Evans lives on our street. We all love Floyd and his wife. Every Thursday Floyd takes our garbage can out to the street and then brings it back after the garbage man has come. Floyd's wife makes the best jam ever and she makes a lot of it, AND she is a very good sharer. All you have to do is give her a nice smile and she'll go get you a jar of jam. But the best of all was on Monday when Floyd brought over his leaf blower and cleared off our lawn. Yea! we have grass again.

Unfortunately Floyd's extension cord didn't reach into the back yard so we had to deal with those leaves ourselves. I raked them up into piles and then let Trevin and Laura jump in them. It was so cute and looked like a lot of fun. But then we had to bag them up today. It took twenty bags! At least they are all gone now (we waited until they all fell to do anything). Now we are ready for the snow. But hopefully that doesn't come anytime soon.
