Our biggest decision ever!

When we built our house in 2009 I said we would live there forever, even though it was in Enoch (Canyon View boundaries) and I really wanted all of our kids to go to Cedar High. Dustin looked at the house as more of an investment. After 4 years he had me convinced that selling our house was the best plan. The market had really improved and we could make some money off of Dustin's sweat equity. So once I was totally convinced selling was our best option we started the process of finishing up all of our projects and staging our house as much as we could. Then we hired Dustin's little brother Jesse who is a realtor with Stratum Real Estate to list the house. These are the listing pictures.

 The Back Deck
 Storage area in the garage
 The Garage
 One of two master closets
Art nook under the stairs (oh yea I forgot to mention here that we finished two rooms in our basement last summer. It was a super big project. And we learned a lot.)
Dustin framed all the walls, laid all the floors, did all of the finish trim and made all of the frames for the pictures and chalkboards. I made all of the pillows,  reupholstered the chairs, refinished the desk, made the chalkboards, made the light fixture in the toy room, stained the French doors and mounted the maps. It was a total DIY project. It took us over six months but it eventually turned out just how we wanted it to (mostly).

Oh ya we also made this sweet stage/bed/ottoman/weird-thing for the toy room. It makes us laugh just to type that super long name! We don't know what to call it. It was the heaviest thing ever and we got it stuck bringing it down the stairs, but luckily Dustin's good friend Ben from work came over and bailed us out. Once it was down stairs I padded it and upholstered it with table cloths. It was the perfect spot for playing video games, putting on a play, taking a nap and building Legos. Unfortunately table cloths are not meant for this purpose and they ripped and stretched out of shape like crazy! So once we have a house big enough for it again I'll have to reupholster it with something more suitable. Dang.
When we framed the basement we clad this wall in the toy room with plywood (under the sheet rock) so it would be strong enough to be a rock climbing wall.

I had a lot more decorating ideas for the house but I just couldn't get them all done in time.

Jesse listed our house on April 30th and we had a showing everyday until May 5th when we accepted an offer. Things moved really fast and we closed May 30th. It was so fast! We moved into Carter Enterprises Apartments (Mountain Vista) for the summer until we move onto our next house. We love doing projects so we are really interested in flipping houses. We bought a foreclosure in Black Rock and are fixing it up now. Stay tuned for all the details on our, "Biggest Project Ever!"
