.So you probably remember that we built our house pretty much by ourselves last year. By December we were so sick of working that we just wanted to be done and live there. We didn't want to spend one more dollar or one more minute working on our house. We just wanted to move in. So we did, even though there were a few things that weren't quite finished. Well it took us a year to recover (slash get so sick of our house not being done) that now we are ready to start working again. I don't want to get overwhelmed so we are just going to take it one little project at a time. I am going to try and do at least one small project a week. I had to start with something fun so I decided to make some cute art for our bare walls. I love
Jones Design Company so I took two ideas from Emily's site and ran with them. First I made silhouettes of my kids. Trust me though I did it the hard way. I took these pictures...

inserted them into "paint" on my dinosaur computer, erased the back ground and then colored in what was left with black. It took forever, like five hours each! Of course that was with a lot of interruptions and like five random computer malfunctions. Then I finally printed them out, and of course my printer was out of ink so I ended up just coloring them in with sharpie.
Then I took some pages from my college ballet dictionary and Modge Podged them onto two small pieces of thick poster board and onto two 16 X 20 wrapped canvas. On one canvas I Modge Podged a 'C' in the corner and on the little squares I Modge Podged the silhouettes of "my darlings"!

I hung the silhouettes next to a cute clock my cousin gave us for Christmas last year in our room, and I hung the canvas in the hall. I am in LOVE with the final products! In fact I hug them as I walk by regularly. These projects were so fun and pretty easy. If you want to make them yourself Emily has great tutorials on her site
Jones Design Company. She has a lot of other really cute projects too. I already started my next MLP (I didn't steal this one from Emily though, I saw it on Sarah's House and decided I could do it myself) but it is just as much fun as the last one.
Next MLP : Master Bedroom Headboard!
