Things We "Dig"

For Easter the Easter Bunny brought Trevin shovels and a wheel barrow. Why you say? Because Trevin loves to dig, we have a huge pile of dirt in our yard, and because all of our neighbors shovels and wheelbarrows some how disappeared from their garages and ended up in Trevin's possession. The green wheel barrow in the picture is our next door neighbors that mysterious appeared in our backyard one day. Luckily the all of our neighbors are really nice and instead of getting mad that all of their yards tools are missing they just come over and join in the digging. One afternoon we had over a dozen kids in our yard all playing so cute together! I love it!
On a totally different note did you watch the Royal Wedding? Well I wasn't going to but the I thought about how I have seen so many clips of Charles and Diana's wedding and thought, man that must have been fun to watch. So, I was for sure not going to stay up until three in the morning to watch it so, I recorded it and I couldn't even wait to watch the next morning. I was so excited and it did not disapoint! It was so pretty and I loved all of the formality, and their accents just made it. I love how they said the word  "poorer" in their vows, it was like on syllable. I was glad that I recorded it though because dang was it long, and I got bored in places and fast-forwarded! I loved her dress. Kate is my new style icon. I think she is so pretty and classy. I just loved it.

Campin, Campin Outside

Is anyone else forced to watch "Bubble Guppies" on Nickelodeon every morning? The title to this post is line from a song on that show. Every time I hear it it gets stuck in my head for weeks.
For Easter this year we packed up the trailers and four-wheelers and headed South. After a lot of driving down very steep and narrow roads that felt like they would never end (something I am pretty sure my Dad loves to do) we ended up at a place called Little Babylon next the Virgin River. Although I was terrified the whole drive in and I was sure we were never going to be able to get out with the trailers in-tow, the Easter Bunny did not share my fears. He made it in and out no problem Saturday morning.
I guess the horrible drive was worth it because it was so pretty and warm down there. We spent a lot of time playing in the mud and sand on the shore of the river. The sand was so nice we felt like we were at the beach! I normally think of the Virgin River as this little wimpy trickle but with all the spring run off it was ragging! So we just stayed away from it and played in a little slow moving off shoot.
This is the slow moving off shoot, the actual river is like four times the size and depth.
Everyone had lots of fun on the four-wheelers except me and Libby. We just hung out together in the trailers and ate everyone's Easter candy, poor us. On one ride Trevin and Dustin saw a Desert Tortoise, and then my parents saw another one just a few minutes later on a hike. How cool is that!?
Trevin had been waiting for months for this camping trip! He loved every minute of it. He made sure we had all the supplies we needed including: flash lights with extra batteries, appropriate clothing, s'more stuff, and fire wood. He even provided the ghost story told around the camp fire.
This kid loves everything about camping, even the clean up! As we pulled out he asked if we could come back here next Christmas. He had so much fun he thought it was Christmas. Boy he is easy to please!
P.S. We made it out fine and I realized it really wasn't that bad of a road I was just over reacting again!

M.L.P 6: A Few Gifts

Before we built our house we lived in my Grandma June's house. When we moved out my brother moved in. We didn't really have a lot hung on the walls when we lived there but we did hang our wedding pictures and sign we got for our wedding on the first wall you see when you walk in. My little brother had nothing to hang on the nails we left in the walls. So for Christmas Jessie and I framed up a few pictures of Heath and his dogs from our family photo shoot. That took care of most of the nails but the ones that held up our sign still stuck out like a sore thumb. I intended on making him his own sign for Christmas but didn't finish it until now. Here is Trevin modeling the finished product.
Trev thought it was a weight and asked if I would take a picture of him using his muscles.
My best friend growing up just got married a few weeks ago. She and her  fiance registered for this cute pillow from Target.
(picture stolen from Jones Design Company because I couldn't save the picture off the Target web site for some reason.)
Unfortunately we don't have a Target here in Cedar and I didn't have time before her bridal shower to run down to St. George to buy it, so I just decided to make my own version.
And it has taken me two weeks to write this far in this post so I am just going to speed blog the rest of it! If you want to know anything else about this stuff (which I doubt!) leave me a comment and I'll comment back.

Flower making tutorial at Jones Design Company.
And the finished product. Not the same as the Target pillow but similar. I think it turned out cute. Next time I should sew the flowers closer together but other than that I like it.

I also made some flower bows for a super cute girl I go visiting teaching to who just had a little girl. Then I found these shoes at Wal-Mart for super cheap and said to my self "These are really ugly right now but they have tons of potential!" So I bought the smallest pair and embellished them. I added a flower to both shoes, I just took the picture before I added the flower to the second shoe so you could see what a difference the embellishments made.
The shoes and the finished gift.
I ended up loving the little shoes so much that I bought a pair for Libby and did the same thing to them, and she has already lost one! What am I going to do with this girl!
