August

My little Sister Jessie made the awesome decision to serve a mission . Since the missionary age for sisters was changed last year from 21 to 19 and because her birthday is in November she was able serve before she started college. In August she received her mission call. She was called to the New York Utica Mission. She was assigned to report to the Provo MTC on December 18th.
Also in August Trevin had his first day of First Grade. He was so excited to be in Mrs. Robison's class. She had been his student teacher in Kindergarten so he already knew and loved her. He didn't even want me to go in with him on the first day. He's so brave. He didn't have any of his friends from Kindergarten in his class, but he made new friends quickly. His teacher says that he is a great student and an even greater friend to everyone in his class.
Libby thought it was also her first day of school. She did not take the news well that she has a few more years to wait.

Fourth of July Weekend

We started the Fourth at my parents' ward's pancake breakfast...
and then headed down town for the parade at Grandma Murray's house...

next was a HOT stop at the park for some fishing...
 bouncy house jumping...
 and sliding,

then lunch at Wingers, the movie (Monsters University), bowling, a BBQ at Grandma and Grandpa's House and fireworks on the way home. What a fun and busy day!

Two days later we headed to Manti to see my Aunt Kathy (my mom's sister) be sealed to Fred Wicker in the Manti Temple and a dance party afterwords. It was so fun!

A New Little Guy I Should Mention

Mckay C. Carter
4/30/13
7 lbs. 19 in.

We had our third (and last...?) baby on April 30th. We went in to the hospital at one o'clock in the morning to be induced. My gallbladder had been acting up for the entire pregnancy and towards the end it was so painful that the doctor agreed to induce me a week early. Trevin and Libby were really excited to sleep over at Grandma Emi's and Grandmas. They each packed a bag and brought their baby books along.
After filling out the paperwork and everything, I got the labor starting pill (I can't remember it's name) and we slept for a few hours. At about five o'clock I started feeling the contractions and at seven o'clock Dr. Gatherum measured me (I was at a 4), broke my water, and said the anesthesiologist would be in in about one hour to give me the epidural. After breaking my water the contractions were so strong I had to ask for pain killer after only about 15 minutes. That took the edge off for like a half hour and then I just had to bear down and wait for the epidural. Unfortunately he got stuck in a C-section and I had to wait until 8:30. By then I was pretty much a wreck! Dr. Stubbs was really nice and gave me the epidural as fast and as strong as he could. It started working right away so the doctor and nurses went out and Dustin left to get some breakfast. Unfortunately by that time I was moving way too fast for the epidural work and it only dulled the pain for like ten contractions. After that I felt everything! Well that's not true I couldn't feel anything in my right leg at all. Luckily my mom walked in right then. I told her I needed everyone back, and she got them for me. As soon as I saw the doctor I yelled that I needed to push and he said to start doing it. Mckay was born a few minutes later.
7 pounds even, 19 inches long

About an hour after he was born my mom left and brought back the whole gang. Libby can't get enough of Mckay. She loved him too much from the very beginning. After visiting for a few minutes my mom took everyone to eat in the cafeteria, that was Trevin's favorite part.

My mom and Emily
Emily came out right after he was born and helped the nurse give Mckay his first bath.
Heath and Amberlee
My sister-in-law Meagan, my grandma Murray and aunt Kathy, my brother Heath and his wife Amberlee, and Dustin's Dad and brother Kenny visited us in the hospital later in the day.  Then the next morning we headed home.

First bath at home.

When they say three kids is the hardest to adjust to they aren't kidding! Mckay is such a good baby though. Libby really doesn't like the lack of attention but she is slowly becoming less of an emotional basket case! She is still learning how to be soft with him, so for now we have to be his faithful body guards.

Kindergarten

I can't believe that Trevin isn't a kindergartner anymore! He loved kindergarten so much. His teacher was amazing. She had so much energy. She kept up with all of those six-year-olds and was so much fun while teaching them a lot. I don't know how she did it all in just three hours a day. Trevin will miss Mrs. Langford so much! He is really excited to have Mrs. Robinson, his former student teacher, as his first grade teacher next year.
