In April

Over Easter break we took a trip to Zion with the Carters. We hiked the Watchman. It's not the typical Zion hike. I was the only one who had ever done it before so it was good for everyone to try something different. It wasn't a very long hike but I was surprised how well our kids did. Trevin led the pack the whole time, Libby walked by herself almost the whole time, and Mckay was pretty content to be carried, and he wasn't that heavy. After this experience we decided we need to do more hiking. So we borrowed the baby backpack from my parents and bought a National Parks pass and hit up a bunch of other hikes over the summer. For some reason I didn't take any pictures of the Kolob hikes we did in April and May.
When we weren't enjoying the great outdoors Mckay and Libby were busy playing nicely together all day at home. Wink!
At Kindergarten registration our fears were confirmed. Libby needed glasses! I thought she might have just been confused about what she needed to do during the eye test so we had an eye exam from the pediatrician during her appointment to get her shots. The poor girl couldn't even tell what was on the top of the chart. So we headed over to the eye doctor and he confirmed that her vision is very bad! When he realized who her grandparents and aunt and uncles are though he wasn't surprised. Bad eye sight runs in both families. Interestingly though Dustin and I both have great eye sight. Libby was so cute when she first put on the glasses. She looked all around the room and happily stated, "I can see all the stuff what's tiny!"
Trevin led his very first flag ceremony in pack meeting. He still really loves scouts!
Trevin also LOVES soccer! He played on a team this spring with a big group of his friends. One of the friend's dad was the coach. He couldn't make it to a few games early in the season so Dustin filled in. Libby and Mckay felt that because their dad was the coach they were also on the team.
Still drinking a bottle non stop and having naps on the couch. Babies.
Mckay loves Libby. He is her little shadow. Everything she does is so fun, he has to try it. That includes all of her naughty antics and dressing up like princesses. Some day we will be really embarrassed about this.
The last day of April was Mckay's second birthday! He chose to celebrate by eating Jello with his hands, in the front room, while not wearing pants. Whatever floats your boat!
The next day we gave Mckay his present. Sand for the firepit - turned sand box. Dustin hauled all of the sand up the steep hill on the side of our house two buckets at a time. It was a work out. He's such a good Dad! Mckay loved the sand box and never wanted to get out. Just give him some dirt and he's happy. Babies can be so easy to please.

It's so fun to have so much of our family that lives in town and can come over at the drop of a hat. I never give anyone any notice and they all still come and participate happily! We have great family.
